1. Trim the Wick
   Before lighting your candle, always trim the wick to about ¼ inch. This prevents the flame from getting too large, which can cause uneven burning and excess soot. A shorter wick also helps your candle burn slower and last longer.
2. Let the Wax Melt Fully
   On the first burn, allow the wax to melt all the way to the edges of the jar. This creates an even “melt pool” and prevents tunneling, where wax builds up on the sides and leaves unused wax behind.
3. Burn for the Right Amount of Time
   For optimal performance, burn your candle for 2-4 hours at a time. Burning it for too long can overheat the wax, while burning it for too short a time can lead to tunneling.
4. Keep It Away from Drafts
   Drafts from windows, fans, or air conditioning can cause uneven burning and shorten the life of your candle. Place your candle in a draft-free area for a clean, even burn.
5. Store Candles Properly
   When not in use, store your candles in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. This helps preserve the fragrance and prevents the wax from softening or discoloration.
